Chief Glenn Joseph joined the City of Boynton Beach and Director of Fire andEmergency Medical Services on May 2nd, 2016.During his 29 years of service at Boca Raton, he rose through the ranks to become Deputy Chief, after serving as a firefighter, paramedic, hazardous materials technician, toxicology specialist, Lieutenant, and Emergency Medical Services Captain.
Chief Joseph served as an adjunct instructor at South Technical Education Center in Boynton Beach from 1988 to 1999, taught in the following areas: firefighting, fire safety inspector, emergency medical technician program, Basic Trauma Life Support, and hazardous materials. Chief Joseph is an adjunct instructor for the National Fire Academy since 1994; subject areas include Chemistry for Emergency Response, Advance Life Support for Hazardous Materials Incidents, Hazardous Materials Operating Site Practices and Hazardous Materials Incident Management system.
Chief Joseph also holds an Instructor III level certification with the State of Florida. Educational background includes an Associates in Science degree in General Business from, at Palm Beach Community College in 1981; an Associates in Science degree in Nursing in 1993 with twelve years experience in Emergency room, trauma, coronary and surgical intensive care units as a registered nurse; completing a Bachelor of Science in nursing in 2016.
He graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management, and a 2004 graduate of LynnUniversity with a Master of Science degree in Emergency Planning and Administration.In 2012, Chief Joseph completed the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program and achieved the Chief Fire Officer Designation from the Center for Public Safety Excellence in 2013.
